WEEK TWO

In week two was quite interesting because first week we didn't do anything in class but in this week we had lab class and we also did class activity. Week two I learned about Primary, secondary, tertiary sources. At the same time we learnt about the Library services like a book lending, Multimedia collection, Photocopy, Information search. And we also learned about references sources like Dictionaries its included Glossary, Thesaurus, Lexicon, Vocabulary where we can get a lot of information, correct spelling, definition, synonyms, antonyms, grammatical information etc. Directories, Encyclopedia,and Atlas and maps also cant get information which is help us to find way, and learn new things. In week two i also learnt about Year book this is the first time i learnt about the Year book in my view year book is reference book which is published each year with updated or new information.Its important for us because we can compare past and present.

INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM : In week two we learnt about information retrieval system which is many universities and libraries use this system to provide access to books, journals and other documents. like Online Public Access Catalog (OP AC) , Databases and internet.

Primary Sources is a first information which is a document, speech or other short of evidence written, created or otherwise produced during the time under study. Example Diaries, Letters, Journals, Research reports, Photographs, Autobiographies etc.


Secondary Sources is something written about primary sources its a second hand information. Such as History, Encyclopedia, Books etc.









Territory Sources is a collection of primary and secondary sources and its included types of references like a Directories, Guide to literature, Almanacs etc.
